Vanilla Bean Hot Cocoa Recipe
We carry vanilla beans and vanilla bean sugars, extracts and more. Stop by to get the best vanilla products around.
Ingredients for vanilla infused hot chocolate:
* 1 vanilla bean
* 4 cups milk
* 2 cups heavy cream
* 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
* 2 tablespoons vanilla bean infused cane sugar (or plain cane sugar)
Directions for vanilla infused hot chocolate:
1. Cut the vanilla bean in half length wise and scrape out the seeds.
2. Add the seeds to a large sauce pan.
3. Add the milk and cream to the sauce pan and place over medium heat.
4. Cook until the liquid is well heated being sure not to scorch it.
5. Stir in the chocolate chips, sugar and vanilla extract.
6. Stir continuously until the chocolate is thoroughly melted.
7. Pour into individual mugs

2009 Hawai’i Pacific Islands Kava Festival
We had a blast this year at the Hawai’i Pacific Islands Kava Festival at the 
University of Honolulu Monoa Campus Saturday Oct 3, 2009! We would like to thank Jonathan for doing such a good job organizing the event, Kupa Aina for the awesome tunes and Naoshi Kaiuiokalani Grady for the really good kava experience! Naoshi had the best kava at the event hands down, everyone would point to his tent when we would ask who had the best awa!
The event was very relaxed and chilled, we sampled a lot of kava, sampled the vegetarian as well as the smoked meat plates, made some really good kava and noni herbal tea connections, listened to local musicians like Kupa Aina and kicked back to enjoy the effects of fresh kava. The event was very educational as well as enjoyable. It was worth the journey to get there!
We will add some video footage soon! Meantime, we are working on getting our import of kava to Arkansas, it will take a couple weeks before it is available. We plan on having a kava party at the shop when it does!

Park Hill Pantry visits the Waialua Coffee & Cocoa Estate on Oahu Hawaii North Shore
We had a chance to meet with Derek and visit the Waialua Coffee & Cocoa Estate operated by Dole. Derek gave us the grand tour and explained the process behind their coffee products and what makes the coffee on the North Shore of Oahu Hawaii unique and rare. We also visited the cocoa plantation and did some sampling. Mahalo Derek! Thanks for the great experience! We look forward to offering these products at Park Hill Pantry!
